After a day of very strong winds with gusts of 50mph and a lot of rain, we took a circuitous route out to the Station Smokehouse at Wroxham, via some very muddy roads.
An interesting venue, themed on a railway carriage, with booths to represent the booths of the carriage, a bit of a squeeze for the 5 of us, but worth the effort for the food.
There is a good range of beers on offer, Brooklyn Lager, Shed Head, Ghost Ship & a Redwell lager too and the all-important Lavazza coffee, and I can highly recommend a flat white.
We ordered;
Chris – Dippy
Ed – The bluebird, Chargrilled cajun chicken breast, blue cheese, bacon & guacamole
Steve – Falafel Burger, Pretzel bun, charred mushrooms, smoked cheddar, LTO, dirty mayo, pickles, slaw and rustic fries.
Mike & Nick – Hopin hot pepper, Steakburger, chilli poppers, Jalapeno jam & hot sauce, served in Pretzel bun, LTO, dirty mayo, pickles, slaw and rustic fries.
The burgers we awesome, top 5 of all time. The pretzel buns really work too, a little bit firmer than a normal bun so it stays whole for every bite of the burger, made all the more special with the amazing slaw and fries.
