Again the weather forecast wasn’t great for this week and we were a few team members down due to illness, so we kept it short and sweet with a short ride from Norwich to Aylsham and the Black Boys Inn.
A fantastic pub with a really good selection of beers (and coffee), with a good menu too. The pub is part of the Colchester Inns group and have a few around Norfolk, maybe we need to visit some of the others too?
As the ride was short we arrived early and ordered the following;
Nick – Classic Black Boys burger served in a toasted brioche bun, hand cut chips, bacon, Swiss cheese & onion rings £14
Steve – ian King oyster mushroom & spring onion stir fry with udon noodles, teriyaki & prawn crackers £13
Ed – Seared fillet of seabass on mixed seafood paella, saffron aioli & chorizo £16
Meals were amazing and we were not left feeling disapointed with any of the choices. The burger was awesome, has to be in the top 5 of all time, mainly due to the onion rings that it was served with, perfectly crispy battered onion rings.
The burger and bun were a good match, the bun didn’t fall apart before I finished the burger inside and it had just the right amount of cheese to add to the flavour without overpowering it.
The ride home ended up being cold and very misty, which made for an interesting return journey.
