This week was another excellent treat of a magical mystery tour courtesy of Ed (Again). With more dummies than Christiano Ronaldo to through us off the route we took to get to the Rising Sun in Coltishall.
The weather was perhaps a little windier than we would’ve liked but the route was something different for us. It started on a route we use a bit when heading south but we soon realised that it wasn’t the standard route and we ended up with a nice milage of 30 miles to the pub.
The Rising Sun is owned by the Colchester Inns Group, which owns another well-visited pub by the MAMILS team, The Black Boys at Aylsham, Apart from the wind that always seemed to be a headwind the ride was uneventful and we arrived at the pub for our 8pm table booking.
The following meals were ordered tonight:
Ed, Nick, Chris, Mike Steak Burgers – Steak Burger with BBQ sauce, Crispy Onion Rings Hash Browns & Cheddar Cheese
Howard Spatchcock chicken – Piri Piri Marinated Boneless Spatchcock Chicken with Reggae Slaw & Sweet Potato Fries
The steak burgers are very good, you could argue that with a steak burger you don’t need onion rings and hash browns, I mean you could, but you’d be wrong! They make the burger into a real meal, which unfortunately did make the ride home rather slow and uncomfortable.
The chicken was a good size too, Howard managed to eat most of it after sharing a bit with Mike
The nicest part of this was the 13-mile ride home from the pub afterwards, giving a respectable mileage, meaning an early evening too.
