The Crown has a good menu and a daily specials board so finding something to choose is only made difficult by the amount of choice available.
The menu choices were;
Ed – Farmhouse Chicken
Farmhouse Chicken £14.95 Local Kenninghall chicken breast pan roasted and served with a cream, mushroom and leek sauce on sauté potatoes.
Steve – Halloumi Burger
Halloumi Portobello Burger £10.95 Baked Portobello mushroom with roasted red pepper tapenade and halloumi topped with onion rings in a toasted bun. Served with skinny fries and salad.
Nick – Pork Burger
Pork Burger £12.95 Homemade pork burger topped with blue cheese and onion rings in a toasted floured bun served with red cabbage coleslaw, skinny fries and salad.
Whilst a pork burger wouldn’t be my first choice it was the only meat burger on the menu and it was perfectly adequate especially with the accompanying Fries and onion rings. It made for a slightly (only slightly) uncomfortable ride back home.
The Crown also has a good specials board too, obviously this changes daily. I’m sure at some point this year we will be back.
