The Black Boys – Aylsham

This week and we’re keeping the distances short and sweet with a ride from Norwich to Aylsham and the Black Boys Inn

A pub that’s part of the Colchester Inns group of which we’ve now been to 4 of the 5 that the group own.

We were cycling gods on the route out with mainly a tailwind, only to be crippled by the returning journey and the headwind.

As the ride was short we arrived early and ordered the following;

Nick – Classic Black Boys burger served in a toasted brioche bun, hand-cut chips, bacon, Swiss cheese & onion rings

Steve – Wild mushroom spaghetti ‘Bolognaisse’ with charred king oyster mushrooms, pesto & mozzarella

Ed – Green Thai style boneless chicken thigh curry with steamed coriander rice, prawn crackers & vegetable spring roll

Mike – Slow-braised venison & redcurrant casserole with creamy mash, herb dumplings & shredded brussel sprouts

Howard – Thai style vegetable curry with steamed coriander rice, vegetable spring roll & prawn crackers

Meals were amazing and we were not left feeling disappointed with any of the choices and we left 5 very clean plates, apart from Ed as he couldn’t finish his.
