This weeks plan was to head to Holt, but after realising the Fish and Chip shop we intended to visit closed the seating area at 8:30 we needed a new destination. We decided a trip to the coast and a visit to Happisburgh before heading back inland and to North Walsham and a visit to The Three Cottages Fish and Chip Shop. However, after a tumble from Chris mid-ride and although he had no major injuries, just a few grazes and by now a few bruises, we decided against completing the journey in full and headed directly to North Walsham giving us a distance of 20 miles, but giving Chris a chance to get some germolene and paracetamol.
The ride was OK up to this point, it was a bit chilly with some light rain but that’s all it was and it could have been a lot worse, but no one was disappointed to be cutting the ride short and heading straight to the chippy.
The service was brilliant, we were welcomed and soon ordered some tea and were served bread and butter whilst we waited for our meals to be prepared, which wasn’t a long wait at all.
The food was really good, good portion sizes and good quality fish/sausage/scampi and chips served on plates with real cutlery, while some may prefer to eat from the paper you can’t beat real crockery and knives and forks, plus it makes it feel more like a meal out!
This will definitely be a new venue for the Mamils to visit.
